My mom and I have shopping at CATO for years and have never had a bad experience. We love their product and adore their employees! But today, we went into the store and we're disappointed in our experience. We were greeted with a friendly hello, but then it was all downhill. It appeared that they had a manager from another store in to help them with displays and were learing how to choose items for the front racks. While understandable, they completely ignored the customer. We shopped and found a few items to try on. After waiting by the dressing room for a few moments, we decided to just try them on in the hallway to decide if they worked or not so that we could just finish and go. After we were done, one lady finally yelled from the other side of the store and asked if we needed a dressing room. I replied with "no, we just tried them on here". Not one of the employees felt the need to come over to us personally. They remained clustered by the door, with no regard to us as the customer. Upon leaving, they gave a standard goodbye, with which we replied "we will be back when you have time to actually help us". This store failed today in the very thing they pride themselves in... taking care of the customer. I hope that they review their practices and use this as a learning experience to grow from. Better luck next time!
